One of the season’s great wedding trends is for more intimate ceremonies. These occasions tend to have a smaller guest list of up to 25 guests, often called ‘micro weddings’. They may be formal or informal, or they may follow tradition or take a more modern approach, but they tend to be a fusion of both.

Also, since there is more budget per head, they lend themselves perfectly to bespoke soirees, which are remembered for personal touches throughout. This can range from private wine tasting as part of the big day festivities to personalized favours. 

They also encourage the bride and groom, most importantly, to spend quality time with each and every guest, just one of the reasons for its increasing popularity.

‘I DO’ right now! Party later!

The ‘wedding now party later’ must be the brand new wedding theme of 2021. Fueled by event restrictions, this modern concept will have couples who say their vows to become husbands and wives soon enough to hold a date in the future for a party with larger groups of family and friends.

Controversial perhaps but after all it is definitely spine-tinglingly thrilling to become Mr & Mrs right now with impressive lavish celebrations to look forward to in the future!

Extented Celebrations

A trend consistently growing has to be extended wedding celebrations, I mean let’s be honest who wants to enjoy their wedding across a day when they could opt for a long weekend or even a week!

For many couples, small gatherings set over longer periods are becoming increasingly the go-to, and we definitely do not see this slowing down in and beyond 2021. Couples will look for additional ways to please and spoil their smaller guest list with intimate weddings on the rise and what better way to celebrate for longer than celebrating.

The Decoration

One of the clear trends in weddings for 2021 is the inclusion of luscious greenery. Tables dressed in foliage cascades or ceremonial arches displaying masses of leaves and greenery on display are the perfect choice for sophisticated wedding decorations.

Think of ferns, succulents, eucalyptus garlands, or even a cactus or two. The best thing about this natural decor trend is that it can be incorporated into almost any wedding style, certainly rustic farmhouse, most definitely modern industrial, outdoor terrace destination, of course!

The Wedding Dress

According to the other Bible, Vogue, there are many stunning white dresses on recent runways and it’s all about the sleeves! Not just any sleeves, oh no they have to be puff sleeves, this fashion statement will ignite its resurgence into the world of bridal gowns, be it smaller cap sleeves or full length billowing designs.

We’ll see many more throw-out-the-rule-book bridal styles, including the classic shorter above the knee dresses, in line with the more relaxed approach to weddings. Brides will continue to hitch up the hem and show off their pro dance moves. All eyes will be on the bridal shoes with this in mind, and 2021 is set to be all about the pop of colour, pastels or rich tones, all about having fun when it comes to footwear.

In these eco-conscious times we live in, couples are looking for ways to host responsibly more now than ever. It implies cutting back on needless waste and seeking to be as environmentally friendly as possible. Wedding venues are becoming greener and more sustainable, many locations that provide in-house catering would be more eco-friendly using locally sourced produce as well as other areas within their business.

Neon signage and lights continue to be popular and can be customised to suit and makes a great keep sake, you just need the space.
